(Four times +31% smithing, fortify smithing potion) which is above the armor rating cap. I have just made a light armor set using only alchemy and smithing which takes my armor bonus above 567 - no perks used, no enchantments. So what the ****? The sole advantage of wearing light armor is 50% faster stamina restoration? Heavy armor has four big perk advantages and has half of light armor's perk advantages, negates light armor's biggest advantage (the weight) and on top of all that has the initial advantage of a higher armor rating to begin with. But if you have all the perks in heavy armor and wear that exclusively you get the higher armor rating and the weightless armor, as well as half damage from falling, stronger unarmed attacks, half the stagger and a 10% chance to reflect melee damage. So if you're wearing all light armor and have all the perks you get a 50% higher armor rating, weightless armor, 50% faster regenerating stamina and a 10% chance of avoiding melee damage. 10% chance to reflect melee damage back to the enemy if wearing all heavy armor. Additional 25% armor bonus if wearing all heavyarmor. Heavy armor weighs nothing and doesn't weigh you down. 50% less stagger when wearing all heavy armor. Half damage from falling if wearing all heavy armor. 25% armor bonus if wearing all heavy armor. Unarmed attacks with heavy armor gauntlets do their armor rating in damage. 10% chance of avoiding all melee damage if wearing all light armor.

Additional 25% armor bonus if wearing all light armor. Stamina regenerates 50% quicker in all light armor. Light armor wears nothing and doesn't slow you down. 25% armor bonus if wearing all light armor.

But heavy armor has a perk that makes it completely weightless. The basic concept is that light armor is lighter so its better for stealth and movement at the expense of defense. Seriously, seems like they screwed up the balancing big time.
